Information in English in this article.
To All Polish Citizens in the United States:
If you registered to vote in Poland´s May 9-10 presidential election (which was cancelled at the last moment) and you still want to participate in the presidential election within the new timeframe in June, you have to notify the Polish ministry of foreign affairs that you want to use the mail-in ballot. You have to select this option even though voting by mail is your only option in the United States. You have to do this BY THE END OF TUESDAY, JUNE 16. 2020 (most likely by 5 P.M. local time in the United States). You can communicate your request for a mail-in vote at https://ewybory.msz.gov.pl/ (by choosing the button "zmień sposób głosowania") or by contacting your local Polish consulate directly.
If you did NOT register to vote in Poland´s May 9-10 presidential election and you want to participate in the presidential election within the new timeframe in June, you have to register to vote either at https://ewybory.msz.gov.pl/ (by choosing the button "rozpocznij rejestrację") or by contacting your local Polish consulate. You have to do this BY THE END OF MONDAY, JUNE 15. 2020 (most likely by 5 P.M. local time in the United States).
Contact information for all Polish consulates supporting the Polish presidential election in the United States is listed in the ANNOUNCEMENT hyperlinked below.
Please note that using the online form is your best option. Please bear in mind that the vote-by-mail selection and the voter registration functions on the website may be turned off in accordance with Warsaw time. Therefore, do not procrastinate with using the website.
Hundreds of people have completed the online form in just a couple minutes, especially when they had all their necessary information handy. Issues with the online form range from improper user input (e.g., entering one´s name without the necessary Polish diacritical marks or entering the birth date in the wrong order) to true IT issues on the system side (e.g., many people receive a confirmation link via email and that link expires before it can be clicked). If you run into such issues, try again. If you did not succeed after a couple attempts, you can contact your local consulate. Email is most practical, but note that the consulates may close earlier than 5 P.M. on certain days. (Yesterday the consulates did not respond to voters´ queries simply because everyone at the consulates was off in observance of Corpus Christi.)
When you fill out the online form, in step 2 (voting method), you have to select "by mail - with the ballot packet sent to my residence." It is the only option that will allow you to move forward because none of the Polish consulates allow for the ballots to be picked up or dropped off in person. (Yes, the process could have been designed much better. But it is what it is.)
