Farewell to Holy Rosary Parish

It is time for me to bid farewell to Holy Rosary Parish. I thank God for these four years of service in this community. I came to you full of hope, but also with some nervousness. However, my fears were unfounded as I quickly met many wonderful and dedicated people.

Today, I thank the Merciful Lord and Our Lady of the Rosary for this blessed time, and I would like to thank all of you my dear parishioners and friends of Holy Rosary church.

Thank you to my closest collaborators: Fr. Zdzislaw Nawrocki, SChr, Alina Cary, Helena DeAngelis, Marian Fital.

I am grateful for the cooperation of the Corporators - Christine Grabowski and Dariusz Bogacki,

the Financial Board - Edward Staniewicz, Lidia Gajec, Zbigniew Jamroz and Damian Michalak;

the Parish Council - John Gluth, Anna Chojnowska, Alina Cymek, Jeanette Król, Maryann Chorabik, Alicja Krajewska, Mariola Sadowska, John Bednarek.

Many thanks to our choir members and our organists: Christina Wells, Joseph Surowiec and John Hemmling. Thank you to Mariola Sadowska, coordinator of the Polish Saturday School, all the teachers and catechists for developing these programs.

Thank you to all the volunteers.

The greatest joy of all to a pastor is the community because it is a testimony to the vitality of the parish. The formation groups: the Living Rosary, Friends of the Merciful Jesus, Holy Name of the Divine Mercy Group, the Young Adult Group, Lectors and Altar Boys, all constitute the soul of our parish. Without the involvement of members of the Polish Culture Organization and of the Polish Family Organization, that memmbers names I hold im my heard, we would not be able to successfully organize the many wonderful events which includes Divine Mercy Sunday, the Polish Fall Festival as well as numerous other events.

In this short time we instituted many parish improvements and managed necessary repairs. I would like to especially thank Jakub Scigala and his company for their participation in numerous projects and which many times he generously donated the the work for free.

In coming to this parish I was very keen to build unity in this community. If I succeeded then Praise the Lord, if not, then I apologize for the incompetence. One thing I do ask of you, is that you never forget that the future of this parish is entirely in your hands. Thanks to unity and forgiveness we can overcome all obstacles standing in the way of us being Missionaries of Divine Mercy.

I am grateful for each and every moment I have spent with you. I apologize for any expectations that may not have been met. I ask you to keep me in your prayers. I will carry the experience I gained here in Baltimore and share it with all those that I will meet in Chicago. Praised be Jesus Christ and God’s Blessings to all.
