Father Robert Wojsław SChr. + April 27, 1973-July 14, 2025 Holy Rosary Parish extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of our parish priest, Father Robert Wojsław, SChr, who passed away suddenly on Monday, July 14th. A Funeral Mass for Father Robert was celebrated at Holy Rosary Church on Friday, July 18, 2025. Please pray for the repose of his soul and keep his family in your thoughts during this time. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Wieczny odpoczynek racz im dać Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj im świeci. Niech odpoczywają w pokoju. Amen. Father Robert Wojsław SChr., son of Jan and Maria née Pietrzak, was born on April 27, 1973, in Nowy Sącz. A month later, on May 27, 1973, he was baptized in the parish church of St. Nicholas in Moszczenica Niżna. He received the sacrament of Confirmation in Stary Sącz on May 5, 1987. In August 1993, after graduating from high school – the Electrical Technical School in Nowy Sącz – and passing the matriculation examination, he joined the Society of Christ for Polish Diaspora Abroad. After a six-week aspirantate, at the end of September 1993, he began his canonical novitiate in Mórków near Leszno. After a year-long novitiate trial, he made his first profession on September 29, 1994. He then began his philosophical and theological studies at the Society´s Major Seminary in Poznań, during which he renewed his religious vows and accepted the services of lector and acolyte. During his studies, he shared his musical talents by serving as seminary organist and by engaging in the activities of the clerical musical ensemble "Gaudeamus" (particularly through participation in traveling concerts in Polish parishes and a summer concert practice at our parish in Władysławowo). He culminated his studies with the defense of his master´s thesis at the Faculty of Theology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in the spring of 2000, to which our seminary was affiliated at the time. At the end of his studies, on April 11, 1999, he made his perpetual profession in Poznań, and on May 25, 1999, he was ordained a diaconate. He was ordained a priest on May 23, 2000, by Archbishop Juliusz Paetz, then Metropolitan of Poznań, in the ancient Poznań Cathedral. After his ordination and first Mass, he began pastoral work at the Parish of the Holy Spirit in Szczecin-Zdroje. His year-long service at this parish resulted in the recording of an album by the "Szmaragdowe Duszki" children´s choir, which had been operating there for ten years. For the next three years, from 2001 to 2004, he worked at the Parish of Christ the King of the Universe in Stargard Szczeciński, and the following year at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Szczecin. In 2005, he was assigned to pastoral work for the Polish diaspora in the Queen of Polonia Abroad Province, encompassing the United States and Canada. He served in the following Polish diaspora pastoral centers: Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Sterling Heights, MI; Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta, GA; and Baltimore, MD in the USA; and Guelph, ON in Canada. In May 2025, he celebrated his silver jubilee of priesthood with his fellow students in Poznań and Mórków. On Monday, July 14, 2025, his earthly pilgrimage concluded in Baltimore, MD. https://www.chrystusowcy.pl/home/zmarl-sp-ks-robert-wojslaw-schr
